Job Title:            Maintenance Technician                              
Classification:    Summer Student Employment  - $16.37/hour           
Reports To:        Maintenance Supervisor                           

Job Description:
To maintain the functionality of university facilities through wide-ranging tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Receive and follow up on all maintenance requests assigned by Maintenance Supervisor
  • Collect all tools and materials needed for repair and perform all aspects of work to complete maintenance requests
  • Assist in upkeep and maintenance of on-campus housing
  • Assist other Facilities Management employees in completion of campus projects
  • Work in conjunction with department specialists and management to perform and complete tasks as directed
  • Maintain schedule of tasks and report on progress to management
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Currently enrolled student at NCU
  • Knowledge of basic construction standards and materials
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing to insure shared understanding of information
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and phone for communication
  • Experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or construction preferred

Additional Comments:
  • Work environment includes exposure to dust or chemicals and extremes in temperatures
  • Maintenance Technicians are hired at semester intervals (Fall, Spring, & Summer)
Dates of Employment:
May 11 through August 22, 2026

Hours/Week:
Fall/Spring semester: approx. 15 hours
Summer semester: up to 40 hours

Operating Hours: Between 7:00 AM—5:30 PM
Number of Positions Available: 8
